Learn inside a story.
The starting point
Looking up a word can break the flow of reading. Returning to study also means finding the passage, the sentence and the help that mattered last time.
What I built
Kaiyan makes reading the centre of language study. Chinese and English passages bring pronunciation, word lookup and listening into the same place. Saved words retain their context, so review can lead back to the sentence that first made them interesting.
The wider project includes native reading and curation workflows, structured imports and contextual review. The distinction matters: generated or imported text needs to become dependable study material, with enough control to suit a daily reading habit.
It is an ongoing learning product, shaped by the experience of returning to an unfinished book, listening to a passage and gradually needing less help with it.
